On Friday June the 9th the Cass County Sheriff's Office hosted a low-man sobriety checkpoint on K Hwy just North of 2 Hwy.
Out of the 118 vehicles encountered, the Sheriff's Office issued seven summons for failing to provide proof of financial
responsibility, and one for failure to license a motor vehicle.
The Sheriff's Office also arrested one subject for driving while intoxicated, and a
separate individual for an active Cass County warrant.
Members of the Cass County Sheriff's Office Auxiliary Unit also donated their time in assisting the deputies in a variety of tasks.
This checkpoint was also the maiden voyage for the Cass County Sheriff's Office Mobile Command Unit. This vehicle was used to provide the
deputies a secured area to interview arrested subjects. The command vehicle was also used as a controlled environment for
the breath alcohol testing instruments.
