Sheriff’s Office Investigating Inmate Suicide

Around 8:30 pm Monday night deputies discovered an unresponsive inmate in a shower of the Cass County Jail. Deputies began CPR and notified EMS. Attempts to revive the subject by first responders were unsuccessful and the subject was declared deceased at the scene.
Investigators with the Johnson County Missouri Sheriff’s Office were called to lead the investigation along with the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The inmate is not being identified at this time to allow next of kin to notify family. The identity will be released at a later time.

The name of the inmate found deceased on Monday is identified as Jeremiah T. Denson 29, Pleasant Hill, MO.
