Anyone traveling on I-49 the night of March the 5th between Harrisonville and Peculiar is asked to call 816-380-5200 if they may have seen something.

Body Found on I-49
Around 7:00 am deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area of I-49 2 miles south of Peculiar after receiving a call about a body in the median of the highway. Upon arrival deputies located the body of a white male. Investigators are working to determine if the victim was struck by a vehicle or died of other causes.
At this time no cause of death has been determined. The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office has been called to assist.
