Spring Citizens Academy Announced

On Thursday March 14, around 8:30 p.m. the Cass County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Unit was involved in a vehicle pursuit in Belton. Deputies stopped a vehicle near Brookview and Colbern Street in Belton, MO. for a registration violation. When deputies began to approach the vehicle the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Deputies pursued the vehicle north on Westover Street where the driver attempted to pass a vehicle and lost control of the car. The vehicle overturned and landed on its roof. One subject fled on foot and was apprehended by a Cass County Deputy a few blocks from the scene.

Two adults and two children remained in the vehicle. Belton Fire and EMS responded to the scene to extricate a female passenger from the vehicle. All of the occupants were checked for injuries and transported to area hospitals for minor injuries. A female passenger was advised and released on a municipal warrant. She accompanied the two juveniles to an area hospital to be checked. The accident was investigated by the Belton Police Department.

Terence K. Rodgers, 23, Kansas City Missouri was issued a signature bond on warrant in Independence, Mo. for Obstructing Police. Terence Rodgers was released.

The driver of the vehicle, Jordan D. Rodgers, 24, Kansas City Missouri, was treated and released at an area hospital and transferred to the Cass County Jail on 9 warrants issued in Jackson County. Those charges include Obstruct Police and Traffic Offenses, total bond $6,500.00 10% cash only.

This afternoon the Cass County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged J. Rodgers with Two counts of Felony Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Felony Resisting Arrest By Fleeing, and Felony Property Damage 1st Degree. His bond on these charges was set at $25,000.00 10% Cash Only.

Jordan Rodgers is currently in custody at the Cass County Jail.
