Man Dies After Falling in Well

Around 5:20 pm, on 04-03-14, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a call in the 22000 block of S. Dillon Rd, north of Gunn City, of a man that was possibly in a well.
Cass County Deputies arrived on the scene and located the victim in the well, but determined he was unresponsive. Deputies, firefighters and emergency personnel from East Lynne and Harrisonville Fire Department arrived and recovered the body of a 72 year old man from inside the well.
The well, located behind the residence, is approximately 30 feet deep and the waterline was more than 10 feet below the opening. Investigators are working to determine how long the victim may have been in the well.
The man has been identified as Connie B. Dillon, 72 of Pleasant Hill. Mr. Dillon lived at the residence in the 22000 block of S. Dillon where he was discovered.
Pending a determination from the Jackson County Medical Examiner, a cause of death has not been determined.
