Human Remains Located in Rural Cass County

Around 3:40 p.m. today deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were called to a wooded area near E. 233rd and State Route Y south of Belton after a mushroom hunter reported finding possible human bones.
Investigators have confirmed that the bones found are human. Deputies are expected to be in the area for an extended period of time investigating.
No further details are available at this time. It is unknown about the age, race or sex of the victim.
