Additional Remains Discovered

Detectives with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to search the area near E. 233rd and State Route Y for additional evidence and remains. The Sheriff’s Office can confirm that on Monday one human skull was recovered and sent to the Jackson County Medical Examiner for further examination. Tuesday morning a second human skull was located in the same search area.
No identification has been made at this time. Based on the remains recovered the age, sex, race have not been determined. Further examination is currently in progress.
Although families of missing person cases in the area have been in contact with law enforcement we cannot confirm the identity of victims.
