Victim Identified in Cass County Search

This evening the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified one of the two victims found in Cass County as Jessica Runions. Detectives with Kansas City Police Department notified the family shortly after confirming the identity.
The remains of the second victim has not been identified.
Investigators will resume a search of the area near 233rd and Y Hwy in the morning. Numerous agencies from around the area will participate in the search which is expected to involve nearly 100 investigators.
