Body Found on Tuesday Identified

On Tuesday Cass County Investigators were called to the area of E. 327th and S. Lone Tree south of Harrisonville around 1:30 p.m. after a farmer discovered a body near a field. Investigators have identified the victim as 29 year old Luke Schuman of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Schuman was reported missing from Harrisonville on January 3. A joint investigation between the Sheriff’s Office and Harrisonville Police Detectives will begin on Monday. At this time investigators are calling the death suspicious.
Results of an autopsy conducted by the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office are still pending.
