Driver Involved in Pursuit Charged in Burglary of Archie Home

On Tuesday April 23 around 11:52 am deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in the 34000 block of S. Cantrell Rd east of Archie for a reported stealing. While responding to the area deputies observed the suspect vehicle being followed by the reported victim in the area of South 7 Highway and Kauffman Rd.
Deputies attempted to stop the suspect vehicle at which time the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The driver crashed the vehicle on S. Old Trail west of East Lynne and fled on foot. Deputies in the area were able to locate and quickly take the subject into custody without incident.
Today Cass County Prosecutors have charged, Joshua S. Griggs, 36, of Pleasant Hill with Burglary 2nd Degree, D Felony and Resisting Arrest By Fleeing, E Felony. His bond has been set at $25,000.00. Griggs has an additional active Cass County warrant for Assault 4th degree, bond $500.00.
Joshua Griggs is currently in custody at the Cass County Jail.
