Cass County Cracks Down on Impaired Driving

Law Enforcement officers will be out cracking down on drunk driving with increased enforcement May 1st – 3rd 2009. The Cass County Safety Traffic Enforcement Program and Jackson County Traffic Safety Task Force will participate as part of a statewide crackdown on drivers under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.

“It’s never worth the risk to drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Drivers could lose their license, pay large fines, or worst of all, cause a tragic loss of life”, said Cass County Sheriff Dwight Diehl.

In 2007, 243 people died in more than 7,700 alcohol-related traffic crashes, resulting in a death or injury every 1.7 hours. Sheriff Diehl says “We are all part of the solution and please consider the following tips:
