Two Men Charged in Death of Baby

Two men have been charged after a week long investigation by Cass County Detectives into the death of a 4 month old girl Peculiar, Mo. infant. Cass County Sheriff’s Office Detectives were contacted by Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City Missouri on April 20th regarding a four month old female with life threatening injuries that were of a suspicious nature. The infant died on April 22 as a result of her injuries.
The infant’s father, Moreno Antonio Salinas, 19, Greenwood, MO. and his cousin Allen T. Green 20, Kansas City, MO have both been charged with Murder in the First Degree. Charges state that between April 3, 2010 and April 22, 2010 the defendant, alone or in concert with another, after deliberation, knowingly caused the death of the infant.
An autopsy by the Jackson County Medical Examiner indicated that the victim sustained injuries that were consistent with shaking the baby.
Luke SchumanSalinas and Green are both in custody at the Cass County Jail, each on $1 million bond. There first court appearance is scheduled for Monday May 3rd at 9:00 am.
