St. Louis, Mo. – The Missouri D.A.R.E. Officers Association held its annual conference in St. Louis last month. The annual conference ran from July 28 to August 1, 2008 and attended by D.A.R.E. Officers from around Missouri and surrounding states. The annual training conference is an opportunity to learn the latest trends in drug usage and violent crimes that are affecting our youth. Officers learned about teaching and facilitating new and updated D.A.R.E. Lessons.
Detective Stan Belk of the Harrisonville Police Department received this year’s President’s Award. Detective Belk trained in 1989 as a D.A.R.E. Officer and has served as Region Representative to DARE for several years.
