The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a death near I-49 and Peculiar Drive, approximately 2 miles north of Harrisonville.
Passerby discovered a body in the ditch between the southbound lanes of I-49 and Peculiar Drive around 11:30 a.m. this morning.
At this time the victim is being identified as a white female in her early twenties. Detectives do not believe that this victim it is related to any other ongoing investigations in the metro area. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office will be working with the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause of death and a positive identification.
