Pursuit into Bates County

On Monday April 22 at 11:50 pm a Cass County Deputy stopped a white dodge truck in the area of South and Sanders St. in Harrisonville for a traffic violation. The deputy made contact with the driver and an occupant of the truck. When the deputy asked the driver of the truck to step out of the truck the female passenger moved to the driver's seat and drove off at a high rate of speed. Deputies pursued the vehicle south on I-49 from Commercial St. A Bates County Sheriff's Office Deputy and Trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were able to successfully deploy tire deflation devices and the driver eventually stopped on I-49 at 52 Highway in Butler. The driver, Tasha S. Mathews, 28, Riverside MO was taken into custody without further incident.

A computer check of Mathews revealed active warrants for her arrest that include:

  • Failure to Appear - Assault, Platte County MO, Bond $20,000.00
  • Failure to Appear - Drugs, Platte County MO, Bond $2,000.00
  • Operate Motor Vehicle of Another, Cass County MO, Bond $100.00
  • Municipal Warrants, Pleasant Hill MO, Bond $200.00

Mathews is charged with Tampering with Motor Vehicle, D Felony and Resisting Arrest by Fleeing, E Felony for the incident on April 22. Her bond in that case has been set at $7,500.00 (10% Cash Only).

Mathew is currently in custody at the Cass County Jail held on a total bond of $29,800.00.
