The Cass County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Team was created to maintain order and to minimize injury or the loss of life and property through the use of advanced techniques, training, and tools in the performance of any law enforcement, lifesaving, or humanitarian function for which they are deployed. They do this by only selecting and retaining those members who desire to constantly strive for perfection, and who are able to pass an extensive physical fitness test and oral board. They are exposed to training and tactics that enable them to proficiently and professionally achieve their goals in a given operation. Those operations include but are not limited to, active shooter situations, victim or officer extractions, barricaded suspects, hostage rescue, riots, civil unrest, and warrant services.
