Man Barricaded in Cass County House Arrested

2016-01-08Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man this morning after he entered an occupied residence around 9:00 a.m. and refused to leave. Deputies were called to the area of S. Donahue Drive where they recovered a stolen vehicle taken from Henry County. Deputies were alerted by witnesses who saw a man flee the scene and enter a residence in the 12000 block of E. 249th.

Deputies contacted the residents at the house who stated that a male subject entered their house to hide from the deputies. Deputies were able to get the all the occupants safely out of the residence and attempted to make contact with the subject. The Cass County Tactical Team was called to the scene after negotiators were unable to get the man to surrender. Around 10:45 a.m. the Cass County Tactical Team took one man into custody without incident.

The subject arrested, Ashly J. Hampton, 32, Blairstown was taken into custody on a Probation Violation from Bates County Missouri. He is currently being held in the Cass County Jail on a $5,000.00 bond.
