Pleasant Hill Man Charged in 8 Felony Counts

On Wednesday March 30, 2016 around 6:45 p.m. Cass County Deputies were called to a residence in the 20000 block of S. Purvis Rd, regarding an assault. The victim reported that he had been struck in the head with a 3 foot long screwdriver. When deputies arrived on scene the defendant, Konrad R. Huffman, 55, fled in a Dodge Dakota truck. During the pursuit Mr. Huffman rammed two Cass County patrol vehicles and struck a third causing extensive damage. Deputies pursued Mr. Huffman for approximately 15 minutes down S. Purvis Rd and across State Highway P. The pursuit eventually traveled back to the 20000 block of S. Purvis Rd.
Deputies ended the pursuit when they were able to block the vehicle from moving at which time Mr. Huffman exited his truck with a knife in his hand. Deputies deployed their tasers and were able to take Mr. Huffman into custody without further incident. Mr. Huffman was treated on scene by Pleasant Hill Fire and EMS.
Although 3 vehicles sustained heavy damage no deputies were injured. The victim was treated and released at an area hospital.
Mr. Huffman is currently in the Cass County Jail on the following charges:
Domestic Assault 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of Weapon, 2 counts – Assault 2nd Degree on Law Enforcement Officer, 3 counts Property Damage 1st Degree, and Resisting/interfering With Arrest for a Felony
Mr. Huffman is being held on a $25,000 cash only bond.
