Three People Arrested After A Robbery

On Thursday morning around 4:30 am Cass County Deputies assisted by the Harrisonville Police Department responded to the Orient Cemetery on Elm Street for a reported robbery and assault.

The victim, a 35-year-old Blue Springs woman, reported that she had went to the cemetery with a friend. While in the cemetery, the female friend and two other subjects assaulted her repeatedly until she was able to escape and hide in a wooded area. The suspects took some of the victim’s property and left in her vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

About an hour later, deputies and the Garden City Fire Department responded to the area of S. Kauffman Road and E. 275th Street for a vehicle on fire. Deputies confirmed it was the victim’s vehicle stolen from the cemetery.

Harrisonville Officers located and arrested the three suspects at an apartment in Harrisonville.

Late Thursday the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office charged Maggie L. Jestice, 32, Harrisonville, Dustin L. Richardson, 31, Lancaster KS, and Glen E. Downton, 59, Harrisonville.

Maggie Jestice is charged with Domestic Assault 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Robbery 1st Degree, Tampering with Motor Vehicle, Knowing Burning or Exploding, and Tampering with Physical Evidence in Felony Prosecution. Her bond has been set at $50,000 Cash Only.

Dustin Richardson and Glen Downton are each charged with Assault 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Robbery 1st Degree, Tampering with Motor Vehicle, Knowing Burning or Exploding, and Tampering with Physical Evidence in Felony Prosecution. Bond has been set at $50,000 Cash Only for each.

All three subjects are currently being held in the Cass County Jail.
