05-19-16The Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Kansas City Police Department with the recovery of a stolen vehicle and arrest of two subjects shortly after 1:10pm today.

Around 12:45pm Thursday afternoon, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen vehicle that Kansas City Police were following south on I-49 near 155th Street. Belton Police located the vehicle on I-49 and pursued the vehicle south until Cass County Deputies were able to catch up. Deputies then pursued the vehicle to 291 Highway where Harrisonville Police were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device. The vehicle exited I-49 at Commercial Street and continued into Harrisonville. The driver was unable to control the vehicle due to the deflated tire and stopped on Plaza Drive and 2 Highway, east of I-49. Cass County Deputies along with Harrisonville Police and Missouri State Highway Patrol took a female driver and female passenger into custody without incident.

Kansas City Police reported that the vehicle, a white MGE van, had just been stolen in Kansas City.

The two subjects were transported to the Cass County Jail. Charges are pending at this time.
